Job Description - Associate (Event)

Job Description:

Washington, DC based association management firm seeks highly motivated individual to provide conference and event support for multiple client educational conferences and events. This individual will learn about the meetings and events industry with the opportunity for career development and growth. Friendly and flexible office environment. Responsibilities

Work with Account Executive/Sr. Associate to plan, coordinate and implement educational conferences and events meeting the client need, vision, and budget
Manage event registration and inquiries
Assist in the development and execution of event marketing campaigns
Maintain the event websites
Manage client specific event mobile apps
Manage online speaker platform and inquiries
Prepare on-going and final event reports
Assist in webinar coordination
Provide on-site event support
Provide additional administrative support as required
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
2-3 years' experience in a professional environment; preferably with association management company, industry trade association or hospitality industry experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Extremely organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and assess priorities
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Experience with member management software and event registration software, event technologies, CVENT & Salesforce experience is a plus
Experience in event coordination including exhibitions, hotels, venues, food and beverage, special events, etc.
Experience with email marketing platform and working with graphic designers
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and resourcefulness under pressure
Positive attitude and outgoing personality to interact with a variety of clients and customers
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Ability to work some nights and weekends with limited travel

Travel

This position will require up to 25% domestic travel throughout the year.

This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 40 lbs.
