Associate General Counsel, Commercial and Partnerships

The Difference You Will Make

Airbnb is seeking a highly qualified, experienced commercial lawyer to lead our Events, Partnerships, Real Estate, and Supply group. The Associate General Counsel, Commercial & Partnerships, will report to Airbnb’s Deputy General Counsel, Commercial & Technology. This role will include negotiation and drafting, counseling on strategic matters, building and maintaining client relationships, and managing a team of commercial attorneys. A Typical Day

• Provide oversight of and strategic leadership for a diverse range of complex deals and exploration of business opportunities in numerous jurisdictions. 


• Proactively address and resolve legal, regulatory, and strategic concerns while providing risk mitigation advice to business clients and supporting business objectives. 


• Collaborate with business leadership, go-to-market teams, public policy experts, and other attorneys inside and outside Airbnb to help solve complex problems. 


• Review and analyze legal risks for Airbnb, including on development of products and services. 


• Devise processes and procedures to help support a rapidly growing, global business. 

Your Expertise

• J.D. from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials. 


• Licensed attorney with 15-20+ years of significant commercial legal experience. 


• Experience with global events and talent, brand-name commercial partnerships, and hospitality or commercial real estate preferred.


• Experience managing commercial legal teams preferred.


• Experience at or representing technology companies strongly preferred.


• Licensed attorney in good standing of the bar of at least one U.S. state or territory.


• Demonstrated record of successfully managing significant aspects of complex commercial matters. 


• Highly motivated, efficient, and organized.


• Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as part of a team and working independently. 


• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. 


• Ability to advocate for a position while maintaining an open-minded approach. 


• Interest in expanding the scope of your practice, attention to details, and comfort with ambiguity. 


• Passion for travel and home sharing and deep appreciation for the Airbnb community. 


• Good sense of humor, disdain for drama, and desire to get things done.

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
