Lead or Senior Investment Advisor (Diamond Team)

About Donaldson Capital Management

Donaldson Capital Management is a wealth management firm dedicated to serving clients with truth, genuine care, and advice that always puts their interests first. As a registered investment advisor (RIA), that commitment shapes everything we do. We guide our clients with integrity and transparency, helping them confidently connect their resources to their dreams. What makes DCM different isn't just what we do, it's how we do it. We lead with a servant's heart, we take ownership of outcomes, and we hold ourselves to a standard of excellence that's as much about how people feel as what we deliver. Our team structure, systems, and culture are intentionally built, and we're looking for people who bring both entrepreneurial drive and a deep commitment to doing things right. People who celebrate wins, then raise the bar. Who believe that exceptional client relationships, operational excellence, and a builder's mindset aren't competing priorities - they're the same priority. If you want to grow inside a firm where your work has visible impact and collective success is the measure that counts, DCM may be the place for you.

The Role

We’re hiring an Associate Advisor to support the Indianapolis Diamond Team. This is an entry-level advisory role focused on operational excellence, client experience, and professional growth. You will work closely with senior advisors to ensure client meetings, onboarding, financial planning actions, and follow-through happen seamlessly.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, organization, and learning — and who wants to develop into a long-term advisory career.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate client onboarding, including account setup, transfers, and service requests

  • Prepare client meetings, including agendas, materials, and documentation

  • Track and complete advisor-directed planning and investment actions

  • Serve as the primary coordination point between advisors, clients, and internal teams

  • Maintain accurate client data and ensure documentation is current and reliable

  • Establish workflows that support a responsive, high-quality client experience

  • Contribute to a culture of follow-through, professionalism, and client-first service

What Success Looks Like

At 90 Days:

You show curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and incorporate feedback quickly. You reliably execute assigned tasks, use core systems effectively, and consistently prepare meeting materials while documenting notes and action items. You contribute positively to a collaborative, client-first team culture.

At 1 Year:

Client meetings are consistently prepared, documented, and followed through without gaps. Lead and Senior Advisors remain focused on relationships and planning rather than coordination. Client data and documentation are accurate and reliable, workflows prevent tasks from being missed, and clients experience clear communication, responsiveness, and professionalism.

What We’re Looking For

We hire based on demonstrated results, not just potential. Strong candidates will bring evidence of having:

  • Managed multiple priorities with deadlines while maintaining accuracy under pressure

  • Served as a liaison between multiple stakeholders, including clients and internal teams

  • Learned new systems, tools, or subject matter quickly and applied feedback visibly

  • Taken ownership and followed through without waiting for perfect instructions

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, finance, economics, or a related field. Other degrees considered with relevant experience.

  • Series 65 expected within 6 months

  • CFP® enrollment expected within 18 months

  • Familiarity with CRM, portfolio, and planning tools such as Salesforce, Orion, and eMoney preferred

  • Experience working with Schwab or Fidelity custodial platforms preferred

Who You Are

Ownership-driven. You notice what needs to be done and follow through. Collaborative, humble, and team-oriented with a healthy ego. Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills. Curious, self-motivated, and committed to learning and growth. Energized by delivering exceptional service and building meaningful client relationships.

What Won’t Work Here

We value directness, so we’ll be upfront: this role isn’t the right fit for candidates who avoid accountability, deflect responsibility, or respond defensively to feedback. We’re building a team grounded in ownership, follow-through, and collective success.

Why DCM

DCM is in a meaningful moment of growth, especially as we launch Indianapolis. This role offers direct mentorship from senior advisors, a defined career pathway, and the opportunity to build a lasting advisory career within a firm committed to servant leadership, excellence, and long-term partnership development.

Compensation

Year-One Salary Range: $62,500 – $72,000

Kicker (after 6 months): ~$18,500

Revenue Share (after 1 year): ~$18,800

Total Compensation Potential: $70,000 – $98,000+

Total compensation grows meaningfully beyond year one through DCM's revenue share model and team-based incentive opportunities. As your contribution deepens and your role expands, so does your earning potential.

Benefits

Retirement: Immediate 401(k) enrollment with pre-tax and Roth options. After one year, DCM provides a 100% Safe Harbor match on the first 4% of compensation, plus an annual profit-sharing contribution of approximately 9% of gross pay.

Health: DCM covers 60% of medical premiums through Anthem with two plan options, including an HDHP with employer HSA contributions of $2,250 (individual) or $4,500 (family). Dental, vision, and mental health EAP also available.

Company-Paid Insurance: Short-term disability, long-term disability, $50K term life, and $50K AD&D at no cost to you.

Time Off: Flexible PTO with no set cap on vacation or sick days. Paid holidays aligned with the NYSE calendar. Up to 12 weeks paid pregnancy-related leave and 4 weeks paid parental leave.

Growth: Educational expense reimbursement for professional designations. Study time support and a day off before exams.

Perks: Company-paid cell phone and service. $500 annual charitable donation to the 501(c)(3) of your choice. Dedicated covered parking. Access to in-house CFP® professionals for personal financial planning.
