RaceTrac Company Overview

Job Description:

The Associate Manager, UI/UX contributes to the design and optimization of guest‑facing digital experiences across all platforms. This role partners closely with the Digital Guest Experience team and Insights Managers to translate data and research into intuitive, effective guest flows. As an emerging design leader, this role balances hands‑on design work with growing responsibilities in experience strategy, testing, and continuous improvement. The Associate Manager advocates for guest needs, identifies friction points, and helps shape thoughtful, data‑informed design enhancements across the digital journey.

Responsibilities:

Experience Design Execution

  • Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI deliverables that clearly communicate concepts and interactions.
  • Translate guest insights, behavioral data, and business requirements into thoughtful UX approaches.
  • Apply design system components and visual standards to ensure consistency across experiences.
  • Support accessibility, simplicity, and usability practices throughout design work.

Design Strategy & Opportunity Identification

  • Contribute to the development of UX approaches for digital guest flows and features.
  • Advocate for guest needs, surfacing friction points and recommending experience improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for iterative enhancements based on research, analytics, and qualitative feedback.

Testing & Optimization

  • Partner with the Insights Manager to support hypothesis development around guest behavior and flow performance.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of usability tests, A/B tests, multivariate tests, and concept evaluations.
  • Build prototypes, design variants, and other assets needed for experimentation.
  • Translate test results and research findings into actionable design recommendations.

Insights Partnership & Data Collaboration

  • Work closely with Insights Managers to ensure qualitative and quantitative data inform design decisions.
  • Participate in research synthesis sessions to help distill findings into UX opportunities.
  • Use analytics, behavioral insights, session replay, VOC, and test results to validate assumptions and prioritize improvements.
  • Support a measurement‑focused approach where designs link to expected outcomes.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Brand, IT, and MarTech partners to ensure designs are feasible, aligned, and well‑implemented.
  • Work with Digital Guest Experience Managers to translate journey goals into user-centered, measurable flows.
  • Communicate design decisions and rationale clearly to stakeholders, supporting alignment and clarity.

Professional Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on UI/UX best practices, behavior science principles, accessibility standards, and design tools.
  • Introduce new methods or frameworks that enhance team efficiency or design quality.
  • Promote a culture of learning, experimentation, and guest‑centric thinking within the design process.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3–5+ years experience in UX/UI design, product design, or interaction design.
  • Demonstrated experience with usability testing, A/B testing, or insights-driven optimization work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with research, data, or insights teams.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma preferred).
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, interaction patterns, and design systems.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions to cross-functional partners.
  • Experience working within digital product environments alongside Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience contributing to experimentation programs or iterative design cycles.
  • Familiarity with journey mapping, service design concepts, or conversion optimization principles.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment with RaceTrac without regard to their race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state, or federal laws, rules, or regulations.
