Cedars-Sinai is seeking an accomplished Infectious Diseases physician to join our Department of Medical Affairs as Associate Medical Director, Hospital Epidemiology. This physician leader will partner with the Director of Hospital Epidemiology to advance infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, patient safety, and quality initiatives across one of the nation's leading academic medical centers.

What You'll Do
- Provide physician leadership for the Hospital Epidemiology Program in partnership with departmental and medical center leadership.
- Lead and support infection prevention, surveillance, outbreak investigation, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Infection Prevention, Pharmacy, Laboratory Medicine, Employee Health, Nursing, and Quality to develop evidence-based practices.
- Analyze epidemiologic and antimicrobial utilization data to identify opportunities to improve patient safety and reduce healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention policies, clinical guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve on key hospital committees, including Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship, and contribute to organizational strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with CDC guidance, Joint Commission standards, OSHA requirements, public health reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and support infection prevention professionals and participate in departmental leadership activities.
- Participate in preparedness efforts supporting Cedars-Sinai's Special Pathogens Program.
- Contribute to the academic mission through teaching, clinical consultation, and research.
Academic Opportunities
Faculty members are expected to actively participate in:
- Teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and healthcare professionals
- Clinical consultation in infectious diseases and hospital epidemiology
- Epidemiologic and clinical research
- Scholarly publication and pursuit of externally funded research opportunities
Qualifications- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Board Certified or eligible in Infectious Diseases
- Eligibility for unrestricted California medical licensure
- Eligibility for Cedars-Sinai Medical Staff membership
- Experience or formal training in clinical epidemiology and healthcare outcomes analysis
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred
- Previous experience in hospital epidemiology, infection prevention, or antimicrobial stewardship leadership
- Published record in peer-reviewed medical literature
- Experience serving as a principal or co-investigator in clinical or epidemiologic research
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, patient care, and academic leadership

Our Compensation Philosophy:
We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package.
Pay Range: $249,500 - $458,000 Total Cash Compensation
