Job Description - Associate Mental Health Therapist (AMFT, APCC) - Early Childhood Services

Citrus Counseling Services (CCS) is a registered non-profit organization that has been providing comprehensive mental health services to our community since 1978. We specialize in programs for young children, at-risk youth, and victims of crime, as well as individual, couples, and family counseling. Our team is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where clients can heal, grow, and thrive.


 


What We Are Looking For:

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Associate Mental Health Therapist to join our Early Childhood Services Team!


If you’re passionate about working with young children and their families, this is the perfect opportunity to make a lasting impact. In this role, you’ll provide fun, engaging therapy to children ages 0-8 years old, helping them build essential social, emotional, and behavioral skills. You’ll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team that values creativity, collaboration, and professional growth.


 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities




  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for children aged 0-8, addressing emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.

  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions, utilizing play therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and other child-centered approaches.

  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to create a support system for each child.

  • Monitor and document progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.

  • Consistently meet individualized clinical service hour goals.

  • Participate in individual and group clinical supervision.

  • Attend and actively participate in all required meetings, trainings, and other team building activities.

  • Participate in community events, as needed.

  • Maintain clinical records in compliance with the agency and/or program policies and regulatory standards.

  • Perform administrative, development, and other organizational tasks as assigned.

  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality of agency and client information.

  • Commit and contribute to the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Goals.
     



    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



    • Experience working with young children and families in a therapeutic setting.

    • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities for children (e.g., CBT, play therapy, family therapy).

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and families.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    • Effective organization and time management skills.

    • Experience with Electronic Health Records.

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.



    Required Qualifications



    • Master’s Degree or higher in a Behavioral Health discipline.

    • Registered and in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

      • Candidates that have a pending registration with the BBS will be considered with the condition that an active registration number will be obtained within 90 days of accepting the offer of employment.
