We\u2019re looking for someone who has a can-do attitude and is willing to lean in and gain confidence in being a strategic advisor, thrives on the challenge of informing and inspiring employees around business priorities and culture, loves storytelling and constantly seeks to improve through disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment. \n\nThis position reports to the Employee Communications manager for the Northrop Grumman Functional Communications team and can be located at our Falls Church, VA or Linthicum, MD site. This position\u2019s standard work schedule is a 9/80 schedule, which allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off.\n\nThis position is Hybrid with some time working from a Northrop Grumman facility and some telework is allowed.\n\n \nIn this job, you\u2019ll:\n\n * Inform and inspire employees and drive business priorities across the enterprise. \n\n * Develop, implement and measure employee, executive, culture and change communications plans and tactics. \n\n * Be a storyteller: Conceptualize, procure and produce a wide array of inspirational content about our people, technologies, successes and business capabilities. Content will range from articles and videos, to interviews, Q\u0026As, brief/catchy lists, infographics, and photo/caption features. \n\n * Write, edit, distribute and measure strategic and timely business announcements, news items, digital content, articles and videos. \n\n * Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to business partners. Develop and measure leaders\u2019 announcements, talking points, speeches, video scripts and speaker prep memos. \n\n * Partner with other communications teams across the enterprise to align on and amplify messaging\n\n * Support maintenance of internal websites and digital signage monitors. \n\n * Support event content and logistics.\n\n * Support internal and external communications tactics (i.e., executive speaking prep, webinars, town halls, industry events).\n\n * Support social media campaigns to promote strategic business priorities. \n\n * Ensure all communications plans and tactics are consistent with the company\u2019s strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand. \n\n * Operate as surge support when needed to business sector communications team.\n\n\n\n\nYou\u2019ll be a great fit if you:\n\n * Have excellent writing and editing skills, and an enthusiasm for telling inspirational stories with words, videos, photos and graphics. \n\n * Live by prioritization and organization and possess superior attention to detail. \n\n * Are positive, poised and approachable, able to work independently and in partnership with others, and confident in offering communications counsel to business partners. \n\n * Thrive in fast-paced, action-oriented environments and able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, reprioritize quickly and meet deadlines. \n\n * Enjoy translating complex and technical topics into easily understandable and interesting stories. \n\n * Have experience with Associated Press Style. \n\n * Have a demonstrated understanding of modern communications topics, tools and trends. \n\n * Are creative and tech-savvy, and willing to challenge the status quo to propose and pilot new, creative solutions, tools and technologies using strategic rationale and business need to build your case. \n\n * Love data \u2013 and using analytics to not only measure your success, but to modify your approach and drive positive change. \n\n\n\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\n\n * Entry level with bachelor\u2019s degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, English, Political Science or a related field.\n\n * Experience in employee or executive communications. \n\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail. \n\n * Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). \n\n\n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\n * Experience with Associated Press Style\n\n * Familiarity with social tools, email measurement tools, website content management systems, including SharePoint, the Adobe Suite of products is a plus, as is a basic understand of HTML. \n\n * Experience producing omni-channel editorial content for a newspaper, news channel, video, magazine or other venue. \n\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
