In this role, you will design and develop the infrastructure to enable advanced testing of robotic instruments that provide robust clinical value. You will be a vital member of a development team, conducting various assignments in collaboration with other design engineers, manufacturing engineers, designers, and multi-functional partners.

What You’ll Do:

Design and develop software systems to evaluate performance of robotic instruments.
Support the design of product concepts quickly and effectively via prototype builds, laboratory testing, and/or computer simulations.
Generate/process/analyze advanced engineering data to meet design spec’s.
Participate in detailed reviews of designs, test methods, requirements, spec’s, etc. and effectively communicate technical information in written/verbal forms.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related science/engineering field.

Required Skills & Experience:

1+ years of experience in product development/ design experience.
Experience programming in Python.
Experience working in a Linux environment.
Experience working with Cloud platforms.
Experience using or developing with databases (Postgres or MySQL).
Able to assist with engineering investigations, problem solving, root cause, prototype rework, and component modification.
Effective communication, collaboration, and teaming skills with ability to present technical information to engineering team.
Data analysis experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes.
Familiarity with version control and code management tools (git, bitbucket).
Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback to teammates on product concepts and designs.
Organized with creative with analytical and problem-solving skills; Able to work independently under general supervision.
Able to set and prioritize goals with general guidance from management.
Experience working on a team project with demonstration of encouraging and inclusive behaviors.
Working knowledge of design controls, design plans, and verification/validation, preferably as they apply within a regulated industry.
Experience in the design, development, and commercialization of medical devices with an understanding of their application in surgical procedures.

Other Required:

Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required, including overnight stays.
Ability to work in Cincinnati, OH.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a laboratory/assembly environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands:

May require lifting of up to 50 lbs. and operation of hoisting equipment for heavier loads.
May require prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling during system assembly.
