Job Description - Associate Researcher II - Urology

Description
Under limited supervision, the Associate Researcher II conducts experiments using advanced techniques specific to the research project. Analyzes and assists in interpreting moderately complex results.

Responsibilities
1.

Under direct supervision, conducts routine and standardized experiments using appropriate research techniques that focus on Translational research in genitourinary cancers.
2.

Responsibilities in this research will cover all aspects of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer, clinical and basic science projects, and clinical trials.
3.

Maintain excellent lab notebook records and analyzes and assists in interpreting laboratory results.
4.

Performs assays including but not limited to, ELIZA, Western Blot, DNA-RNA preps, qPCR, FACS, RNA-DNA sequencing, transfection, maintain cell lines.
5.

Contribute to the bio banking efforts of the team, develop IACUC and IRB protocols
6.

Maintains laboratory environment and assists in the upkeep of appropriate inventory; may include ordering of supplies.
7.

Logs and tests samples; prepares and submits laboratory materials and specimens for shipment.
8.

Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and scientific presentation.
9.

Collects and records study data. Inputs all information into database.
10.

Obtains informed consent under minimal supervision of the investigator(s) and educates participants regarding study requirements.
11.

Assists in the activities related to clinical research studies including but not limited to: answering phone calls, screening participants for eligibility, registering subjects with sponsoring agency, administering lifestyle questionnaires.
12.

Assists in preparing grant applications, IRB/GCO for submission and filings.
13.

Maintains source documents and subject files in accordance with hospital procedures. Ensures accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews.
14.

Drafting of manuscripts for scientific publications
15.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in sciences or related field or equivalent experience
2 years in a research environment or 1 year plus Masters Degree in sciences or related field

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58660.91 - $83999.97 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
