Description

SAIC is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to support the Air Force's next-generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition - the Sentinel Program. Our customer is the Sentinel Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career by contributing to one of the most exciting and challenging development efforts in the Department of War. The successful candidate will support experienced engineers and Government stakeholders, build expertise and deliver meaningful contributions under structured guidance.


Responsibilities Include:



  • Support the United States Air Force in managing and documenting internal deliverable review processes for the Sentinel program.

  • Assist in basic evaluations of mechanical drawings and deliverables, identifying potential issues and gathering key insights during reviews with mentorship.

  • Contribute to data preparation for Major Milestone Design Reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).

  • Provide entry-level support in requirements management using tools such as DOORS to assist in tracking program compliance.

  • Assist with the creation of reports, summaries, and presentations for senior engineers and Government leadership.

  • Engage in relevant training to deepen knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and systems engineering concepts.



Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience in related fields or equivalent academic/internship experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody).
  • Basic understanding of requirements management principles and associated tools such as DOORS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to verification and validation concepts for complex systems.
  • Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, JIRA, or Confluence.
  • Familiarity with government acquisition and technical review processes
