Job Description - Associate Test Engineer

About the Role


As an Associate Test Engineer at Rocket EMS, you will be part of the engineering team responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of customer PCB assemblies. You’ll assist in developing, maintaining, and executing test processes for a variety of electronic assemblies, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and volume production. This role requires problem-solving skills, familiarity with electronic test equipment, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a high-reliability manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities




  • Review test documentation (schematics, test procedures, ECOs, customer requirements) before setup or execution.




  • Support the development, setup, and execution of functional test, ICT, and boundary scan processes.




  • Operate and maintain test fixtures, software, and automated test equipment (ATE).




  • Perform debug and root-cause analysis on failed units; escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers.




  • Ensure accurate recording of test results in databases, reports, and traveler documentation.




  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality engineering to resolve technical issues.




  • Assist in validating new test procedures for NPIs and support transfer to production.




  • Raise and review Technical Inquiries for discrepancies or unclear requirements.




  • Follow all safety, ESD, and quality standards during test operations.




  • Recommend and support continuous improvements to test coverage, cycle time, and reliability.




Qualifications


Education




  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (required).




  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.




Experience




  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, or related technical role.




  • Familiarity with ICT, functional test, and automated test systems in a manufacturing environment.




Skills




  • Working knowledge of test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers).




  • Ability to read schematics, test procedures, and technical documentation.




  • Basic knowledge of PCB assemblies and electronic components.




  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).




  • Good communication and documentation skills in English.




  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Schedule




  • 8-hour shift, Monday–Friday
