Astelia- Backend Engineer

Astelia is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team. In this role, you will design and build the data infrastructure and backend systems that power our platform - from ETL pipelines and third-party integrations to data normalization and structuring. You’ll work across the full lifecycle of backend development: research, design, implementation, testing, and production. This role requires creativity, deep technical knowledge, and a drive to solve complex data and integration challenges at scale.

What You Will Do

• Design and build robust ETL data pipelines that ingest, normalize, and structure data from a wide range of third-party sources
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Python and Go
• Build and optimize integrations with customer environments and external security tools
• Identify, collect, and model data from complex, large-scale network environments
• Develop reliable, production-grade code that processes and transforms data at scale
• Collaborate with the product team to design seamless integration and onboarding workflows for customers
• Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to the evolution of our backend infrastructure
• Take end-to-end responsibility for your work - from design through development, testing, rollout, and monitoring

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Python and/or Go
• Strong experience designing and building ETL pipelines and data processing systems
• Proven ability to integrate with third-party APIs and handle diverse, messy data sources
• Solid understanding of data modeling, normalization, and structuring at scale
• Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS
• Strong problem-solving skills, sense of ownership, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup
• A team player with a big-picture perspective who can focus on critical details
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with cybersecurity products, vulnerability management, or network security domains
• Familiarity with analytical databases such as ClickHouse or similar OLAP systems
• Experience with high-scale and high-concurrency systems
• Background in data engineering or data platform roles
• Experience working in early-stage startups
