Job Title: Patient Access Supervisor

Summary of Position

This position is responsible for overseeing patient access operations at two hospital facilities and direct management of patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk activities, ensuring efficient and patient-centered access to healthcare services.

This position supervises the managers/Supervisors and is responsible for being results oriented, collaborative, delegate effectively, and embrace the organization’s core values, ensuring team effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities


• Provides daily support/mentoring/training to new hires as well as existing Patient Access staff.
• Aids in managing escalated issues as needed.
• Participates in long-term and short-term strategic planning goals.
• Always maintains positive customer service, assisting staff in resolving issues and optimizing access workflows.
• Enforces departmental policies, practices, procedures and work rules in accordance with approved department and hospital policies and assists in the development and implementation of new policies according to hospital and corporate guidelines.
• Responsible for the monitoring of daily activity and completion of performance and metric reports.
• Monitors staffing productivity and quality and providing feedback to staff and leadership.
• Serves as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
• Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.
• Monitor and report daily/monthly productivity
• Ensure Team members comply with Abax policies and procedures
• Verify and monitor time off requests
• Able to fill in when necessary

Preferred Qualifications/Experience


• Five years of Healthcare Patient Access, Insurance Verification, Authorization, No Surprise Billing, Scheduling, or Revenue Cycle Management experience
• Two years of leadership experience in a facility environment
• Prior knowledge, skills, and experience working in a contact center and leading a contact center team
• Ability to manage staff, handling a high volume of customer inquiries with a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional customer service skills are required
• Conflict resolution skills
• Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) products are required
• Familiarity with web-based systems and tools.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively to achieve goals and expectations
• Ability to initiate and follow through on projects
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal or no supervision
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with using data analytics to assess EOC performance
• Ability to understand and meet operational needs and special requests
