One City Schools seeks a dynamic, visionary Athletic Director to lead the development of our comprehensive K-8 athletic and physical education programs (and eventually adding high school grades 9-12). As our Athletic Director, you'll build upon and oversee a comprehensive, championship-winning athletic program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character building. Working across our expanding K-12 system, you'll ensure all athletic activities align with One City's mission while meeting regulatory requirements and fostering competitive excellence that builds school pride and community engagement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop Championship Programs:
Establish and oversee comprehensive K-12 athletic program including physical education and extracurricular sports
Create policies and procedures for athletics covering eligibility, discipline, safety, and academic accountability
Ensure alignment of athletic programs with educational goals and student development initiatives
Lead and Inspire Teams:
Recruit, hire, and evaluate coaches and athletic staff committed to excellence
Provide ongoing professional development including leadership training and sports-specific skills development
Promote high standards for sportsmanship, integrity, and student-athlete well-being
Foster supportive athletic culture with students, parents, staff, and community partners
Manage Operations and Growth:
Identify and secure on-site and off-site practice and competition facilities
Oversee scheduling of games, tournaments, and athletic events across all sports
Ensure proper placement in local, regional, and state athletic leagues
Develop and manage athletic department budget with financial responsibility
Secure sponsorships, grants, and fundraising opportunities to enhance programs
WHAT YOU BRING
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Administration, Sports Management, Physical Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
Minimum 3-5 years experience in athletic administration, coaching, or related field
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience in budget management, hiring/supervising coaches, and overseeing athletic programs
Knowledge of state and national athletic regulations, safety protocols, and best practices
Leadership Qualities:
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and holistic student-athlete development
Ability to collaborate with school leadership, staff, students, families, and community stakeholders
Vision for building competitive programs that prioritize character development
Strong problem-solving skills and innovative approach to program building
Passion for promoting student-athlete academic success and recognition
