Athletic Trainer (ATC)

Premier Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is looking for an Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to work at our Chester County Orthopaedic (CCO) division. The 3 office locations within this division include sites in Media, Aston Glen Mills and Wilmington location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, physician assistants, RNs, MAs, and employee


• Responsible for maintaining clinic flow in all areas of the clinic to include the directing of physicians to their next patient, having pertinent data available and ready for review


• Able to provide competent patient assessment through history, physical and examination on all new and established patients


• Able to review patient records and data base to determine health status and is able to identify normal and abnormal findings on history, physical and exam


• After evaluation of the patient is able to provide a thorough presentation of pertinent data both subjective and objective to the attending physician


• Records patient data gathered during the interview or examination and maintains in patient file and EMR


• Able to communicate effectively the intended treatment plan with written and verbal instruction to ensure patient comprehension and compliance


• Performs duties of casting, splinting, suture and staple removal, wound care, brace fitting and crutch training
  
  
  

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in athletic training as well as a valid state license or certification.


• Proven education or experience will be requested. 

EXPERIENCE 

• 2 years of Athletic Trainer experience in a clinic setting preferred
  

REQUIREMENTS 

• Must hold a valid Athletic Trainer certification. 

KNOWLEDGE 

• Strong understanding of the challenges athletes face, proper nutrition, sports injuries, and treatment options.
  


• Understanding of first-aid treatments, massage, and physical therapy techniques and equipment
  

SKILLS 

• Detail-oriented, analytical, and attentive.
  


• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills
  

ABILITIES

• Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally in order to educate patients about their athletic training treatments.
  


• Ability to demonstrate compassion and desire to help patients.
  


• Ability to analyze data and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
