About the Reapers:
The Reapers AAA Hockey Club is a premier youth hockey program committed to the elite development of athletes both on and off the ice. We pride ourselves on maintaining high performance standards and providing exceptional care to our players through dedicated support staff, including athletic training and performance specialists.
Summary:
We are seeking a certified and passionate Athletic Trainer to join our high-performance team. The Athletic Trainer will provide medical coverage for all home games at Mount Prospect Ice Arena and deliver sports performance training for Reapers teams during the weekdays. The ideal candidate will be committed to injury prevention, rehabilitation, and optimizing athletic performance. There is also the opportunity to support community outreach events for additional compensation.
Responsibilities
Provide athletic training services for all home games, including pre-game preparation, injury management, and post-game care.
Design and implement sport performance programs tailored to team and individual athlete needs during weekday training sessions.
Maintain detailed injury records and communicate with coaches, parents, and medical professionals as needed.
Ensure a safe training and playing environment by recognizing and responding to emergencies promptly.
Cover outreach events with the opportunity for overtime pay.
Collaborate with coaching staff to monitor athlete readiness and return-to-play protocols.
Maintain and organize training room equipment and supplies.
Requirements
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited Athletic Training Program
New graduates are welcome to apply
BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
Hold or eligible for Illinois Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in good standing.
Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong rehabilitation skill set preferred
Additional manual therapy or sports performance background preferred, but not required.
Experience working in a physician or physical therapy clinic preferred, but not required.
Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
Able to function as a team leader
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds
Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing
Ability to be stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes
Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day
Conduct
It is IBJI’s expectation that ATC’s will conduct themselves in a manner which is at all times, courteous, professional and promotes a positive image of IBJI. The ATC will at times be called upon to act as a physician’s representative, and as such will set the example for other employees in dependability, punctuality, positive attitude and adherence to policies and procedures.
