JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Athletics Facility Coordinator
Employment Classification: Non-Exempt, Part-time
Reports to: Athletic Director
Position Summary: Samueli Academy is seeking a dedicated and Athletics Facility Coordinator to support the Athletic Director in the management and operation of our athletics program. This role will focus on facilities management, equipment inventory, uniform distribution, social media engagement, and scheduling events. The ideal candidate will be passionate about athletics, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Facilities Management:
- Assist in the coordination and maintenance of athletic facilities.
- Ensure that all venues are prepared for practices and events.
- Monitor the cleanliness and safety of athletic areas.
Equipment and Uniforms:
- Manage inventory of athletic equipment and supplies.
- Assist in the ordering, distribution, and collection of uniforms and gear.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
Social Media Engagement:
- Manage and update the athletic department’s social media platforms.
- Create and post content highlighting events, achievements, and news related to athletics.
- Engage with the community and promote athletic events through social media.
Scheduling:
- Assist in the scheduling of practices, games, and other athletic events.
- Coordinate with coaches, officials, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation.
- Maintain an updated calendar of all athletic activities.
Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Athletic Director.
- Assist in preparing reports and documents as needed.
- Support the planning and execution of athletic events and fundraising activities.
- Develop and support parent engagement for athletic events
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director or Head of School
Requirements
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in athletic program administration or facility management is a plus
- Bilingual Preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance.
- Pre-employment screenings include criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, drug screen, and previous employment verification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Working Environment / Physical Requirements:
- The Athletics Facility Coordinator needs to be able to demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by the athletes and needs to be able to visually monitor athletes. Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes up to 50 lbs
- Modification to work schedule may be made based on need of the Academy.
