Glacier Fish Company is dedicated to producing the highest quality frozen-at-sea groundfish products in the world. We are one of the largest producers of frozen at sea cod and pollock, and distributes seafood throughout the world. Glacier Fish Company is hiring Processors that are mentally and physically resilient to work in a challenging production factory on board the F/T Alaska Ocean that operates both in Alaska’s Bering Sea and off the coast of Washington and Oregon.
We are seeking individuals for permanent, full-time positions who are open to working a rotating schedule year-round. Individuals with recent experience working in a physically demanding position such as manufacturing, production, construction, logging, oil fields, agriculture or the commercial seafood industry are preferred.
Processors work to convert the raw product caught by the fishing vessel into a processed, marketable product ready for sale.
Requirements
- Repetitive, fast paced accuracy and movements
- Physical lifting up to 70 lbs, repetitively
- Standing 16 hrs/day for 7 days/week
- Work in a wet, cold environments
- Work in small spaces in close proximity of other crew
- Self-motivated team-player
- Must be able to provide 2 recent positive references from previous employers
- All candidates subject to a post offer pre-employment drug test, medical and background screen
Duties
- Sort fish by species, size, and condition
- Tend and operate machinery
- Inspect the fillet product to ensure it meets company quality standards
- Package, weigh, and label product to be placed into freezer
- Deep clean factory equipment
- Participate in offload of frozen product at end of trip
- Load and unload other supplies onto vessel
Life on board
- Limited privacy; rooms are shared 4-8 bunks per room
- Each fishing trips averages 13-24 days depending on fishing conditions
- All meals and laundry are provided at no cost
- Expect limited communication - cell phones will not work at sea
- Satellite Wi-Fi provided - integrated Starlink is a high-speed, low-latency broadband internet able to adapt to remote locations

$10,000 - $12,000 a month
Crew are paid a crew share which can range between $2800 - $3700 each trip worked. Trip lengths can vary between 13 - 24 days on average depending on fishing conditions. There are a scheduled number of trips the vessel will fish each season based on quota. Shipyard work is available while the vessel is in port between the fishing seasons.
