Attorney - Civil Litigation

Position Summary
A well-established law firm in New York City is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its civil litigation practice. This role is ideal for an early-career attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment with direct exposure to cases and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with managing civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal correspondence

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda

• Participate in depositions, hearings, and court appearances

• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel under supervision

• Support senior attorneys with case strategy and trial preparation

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of civil litigation experience (any practice area considered)

• Admission to the New York State Bar (or pending admission)

• Strong legal research and writing skills

• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• Prior courtroom or deposition experience

• Experience handling cases independently with guidance
