Job Description - Attorney HOA / Real Estate Litigation

Pay: $120,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year

Location: This is an in-office role based in either our Austin or Houston office.

Note: For Austin candidates, HOA attorney experience is required. For Houston candidates, real estate litigation experience is required. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Texas.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in HOA, property owners association, real estate, and litigation matters
  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to assigned clients
  • Draft, review, and amend governing documents, legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, opinions, and related legal documents
  • Advise clients on compliance, governance, disputes, collections, and real estate-related legal issues
  • Handle real estate litigation matters, including pleadings, discovery, hearings, negotiations, and case strategy
  • Prepare and pursue judicial foreclosures when applicable
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, court briefing, and client guidance
  • Attend client board meetings, member meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings as needed
  • Supervise and work closely with legal assistants and support staff
  • Manage deadlines, client expectations, billing requirements, and multiple active matters

Qualifications

  • Active Texas law license required
  • Austin candidates must have HOA attorney experience
  • Houston candidates must have real estate litigation experience
  • 1+ year of relevant attorney experience preferred
  • Experience with court appearances, litigation, client communication, legal drafting, and case management preferred
  • Strong legal writing, research, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, approachable, client-service mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management tools
  • Ability to work full-time in office

    • 1 to 3 years directly relevant experience: $120K to $140K

    • 3 to 6 years directly relevant experience: $140K to $160K

    • 6+ years strong HOA, POA, real estate litigation, or client-facing litigation experience: $160K to $180K+

    • Exceptional candidates above range: Client is open to discussing
