Senior Trial Attorney

Our client seeks an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to lead their trial team and work closely with the principal on various cases. This important role focuses on strategy development, mediations, trials, depositions, expert communication, motions, research, and mentoring junior attorneys. A blend of legal expertise and strong leadership skills is essential for fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

Active California Bar license and a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required. 

Over 20 years of attorney experience, including 15+ years as a first-chair trial attorney, with substantial mediation and deposition experience.

Responsibilities:

- Drafting legal motions and trial-related documents, including jury instructions, motions in limine, and trial briefs. 

- Conducting legal research, managing case files, and planning case strategies. 

- Supervising associates and legal support staff. 

- Serving as first and second chair for jury trials. 

- Attending hearings in state and federal courts. 

- Taking and defending depositions. 

- Participating in mediation sessions. 

- Collaborating with expert witnesses. 

- Drafting and responding to discovery requests, as well as responding to meet-and-confer letters. 

- Communicating with opposing counsel and clients. 

Other details:

Location: Costa Mesa, CA - An inviting office environment located near South Coast Plaza. 

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
