Job Description - Audio/Visual Support Engineer (CISCO)

Ignite IT, a leading partner with federal agencies to modernize infrastructure, streamline collaboration, and deliver resilient, high-performance systems is looking for an AV Support Engineer to join our team of engineers and technologists who bring clarity to complexity. As an AV Support Engineer, you will lead the deployment and support of advanced audio-visual (AV) and collaboration technologies across our clients' facilities. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Cisco Room Kits, Call Manager, and video conferencing codecs, while also providing expert-level support for Microsoft Teams, including Town Hall events. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical skill and the ability to support mission-critical meetings in real time.

What You’ll Do

Deploy & Manage AV Solutions: Design, configure, and maintain AV infrastructure across conference rooms and event spaces.

Lead Cisco Collaboration Support: Act as SME for Cisco Room Kits, Call Manager, SX/MX codecs, and conferencing endpoints.

Support Microsoft Teams & Town Halls: Deliver expert support for Teams meetings, live events, and Town Halls—ensuring seamless user experience and troubleshooting in real time.

Maintain & Troubleshoot AV Systems: Diagnose and resolve issues with BiAmp DSPs, Crestron control systems, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and Cisco WebEx systems.

Coordinate Across Teams: Partner with IT, Facilities, and AV vendors for system design, installation, testing, and upgrades.

Document & Train: Create detailed SOPs, runbooks, and user guidance for AV systems and meeting technologies.

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in Audo/Visual engineering and support
  • A bachelor's degree
  • U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a federal government public trust clearance
  • 5+ years of experience deploying and supporting enterprise AV and collaboration technologies
  • Expertise with Cisco Room Kits, Call Manager, and video conferencing codecs
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Teams Live Events/Town Halls
  • Experience supporting BiAmp and Crestron AV environments
  • Hands-on support for Microsoft Teams Rooms and Cisco WebEx
  • Proven ability to work independently and resolve issues under pressure
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

AV industry certifications (CTS, Crestron DMC-E, BiAmp Tesira, Cisco Collaboration)

Experience supporting AV operations in federal or large enterprise environments

Familiarity with AV-over-IP and networked AV system design

Understanding of ITIL-based support models or service desk environments
