Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Audit Partner to join our firm’s leadership team. This individual will play a critical role in leading audit engagements, managing key client relationships, and driving the firm’s continued growth across the region.

The Audit Partner will oversee a diverse portfolio of clients across industries including real estate, construction, professional services, hospitality, retail, and food & beverage, while serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and executives. This is a highly visible leadership role with significant influence over client strategy, team development, and firm direction.

A proven book of business is a significant plus, though not required. Candidates with strong business development capabilities and an established network will be well-positioned to succeed and grow within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Audit & Assurance Leadership

  • Lead and oversee complex audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion
  • Ensure audits are performed in accordance with GAAP, GAAS, and all applicable regulatory standards
  • Review and approve financial statements, audit reports, and engagement deliverables
  • Establish audit strategies, risk assessments, and engagement plans to ensure efficiency and quality
  • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and auditing matters

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary relationship partner for key clients, acting as a trusted advisor on financial reporting, internal controls, and operational matters
  • Build, maintain, and expand long-term client relationships across industries such as:
    • Real Estate
    • Construction
    • Professional Services
    • Hospitality
    • Retail
    • Food & Beverage
  • Deliver proactive insights and recommendations that add value beyond the audit process
  • Address client concerns and ensure a high level of client satisfaction and retention

Business Development & Growth

  • Contribute to the firm’s growth by expanding its presence within the regional market
  • Leverage existing relationships and networks to generate new business opportunities
  • Participate in networking events, industry groups, and community involvement to enhance the firm’s visibility
  • Assist in proposal development, pricing strategies, and closing new client engagements
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for additional firm services

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor, coach, and develop audit managers, seniors, and staff, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Provide leadership in staffing, engagement planning, and workflow management
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support career development initiatives
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning across the audit team

Firm Leadership & Strategic Initiatives

  • Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and operational improvements
  • Participate in firm-wide committees, initiatives, and process enhancements
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, quality control standards, and internal policies
  • Help shape the firm’s culture, values, and long-term vision

Qualifications

  • CPA designation required
  • 12+ years of progressive public accounting experience with significant audit leadership responsibilities
  • Extensive experience managing and leading complex audit engagements across multiple industries
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships at the executive level
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Strong business development acumen and regional market presence

Preferred Attributes

  • Existing book of business or demonstrated ability to generate revenue is highly desirable (but not required)
  • Experience serving clients in real estate, construction, professional services, hospitality, retail, and/or food & beverage industries
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to firm growth and leadership
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on client engagement
