Join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with City and State tax codes. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to conduct research and audits to resolve taxation and licensing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit taxpayer and City financial records to determine tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
Conduct legislative reviews and prepare revenue analyses and policy impact reports.
Attend meetings and workshops to stay informed on the latest tax policies and audit technologies.
Perform comprehensive research for audit analysis and prepare materials for court and legislative reports.
Prepare and process various audit reports and documentation to support audit activities.
Consult legal and regulatory sources to ensure accuracy and compliance in all work.
Communicate with department staff, legal professionals, and government agencies to conduct audit analyses.
Perform general administrative duties, including preparing reports and correspondence.
Undertake other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in financial management, business, accounting, or related field.
Previous experience in government finance or accounting preferred.
Strong knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting frameworks.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with State and City tax codes and their application to assessments.
Ability to interact courteously with the public and staff.
Comprehensive knowledge of property assessment methods.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and revenue assessment software.
High accuracy and attention to detail.
Knowledge of the functions and interrelationships of the City and other governmental entities.
