Authorization Specialist - Medical Office

Description

As the Authorization Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining and verifying insurance authorizations for office and surgical procedures. Your work will ensure that patients experience a seamless process, while maintaining compliance with insurance requirements.

Requirements

• Communicate with insurance companies to secure authorizations for office and surgical procedures.
• Review patient medical records to ensure compliance with insurance guidelines.
• Collaborate with surgeons, medical staff, and billing teams to ensure accurate scheduling and documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and coding requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing questions and concerns related to insurance coverage.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, office and surgical procedures, and the insurance authorization process.
• Previous experience in a medical office or similar healthcare setting.
• Proficiency  in managing electronic health records (EHR) and insurance portals.
