The Auto Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in FAW and HOWO TX trucks, tankers, and trailers. The role ensures optimal vehicle performance by resolving electrical faults, supporting preventive maintenance schedules, and minimizing fleet downtime. The position also requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and OEM standards while working closely with workshop and maintenance teams.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in FAW and HOWO TX trucks, including wiring harness systems
Repair and maintain ECUs, alternators, starters, batteries, and charging/starting systems
Maintain and repair lighting systems, dashboard instruments, warning indicators, and control switches
Service electrical systems for tankers and trailers
Perform preventive maintenance on vehicle electrical systems as per OEM and company schedules
Troubleshoot ECU, ABS/EBS systems, sensors, relays, fuses, and CAN bus networks
Use diagnostic scanners and interpret wiring diagrams for fault identification and repair
Attend and resolve electrical breakdowns promptly to reduce vehicle downtime
Ensure compliance with HSE policies, safety procedures, and legal requirements
Apply proper PPE and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures during maintenance work
Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents immediately
Participate in toolbox talks, safety audits, and workshop inspections
Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and safety documentation accurately
Coordinate with mechanics, supervisors, and other workshop staff for efficient repairs
Recommend corrective and preventive actions for recurring electrical issues
Requirements
Certificate in Motor Vehicle Auto Electrical or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 5 yearsâ hands-on experience in auto electrical systems (heavy-duty trucks preferred)
Proven experience working with FAW and HOWO TX trucks (advantageous)
Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems including ECUs, CAN bus, ABS/EBS, and sensors
Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret wiring diagrams
Strong understanding of HSE standards and workshop safety procedures
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced workshop environment
Good teamwork and communication skills
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
