TITLE:  Auto Service Technology Instructional Assistant



CLASSIFICATION: Administrative Services

Who You Are: Automotive Service Technology students will be trained in engine repair, electrical, engine performance, air conditioning, brakes, steering, and suspension systems. Basic instruction focuses on the A.S.E. Task List which is designed to meet national accreditation requirements. Auto Service Technology offers hands-on experience, including live-work projects and using specialized tools. The primary role of the Instructional Assistant is to aid the Auto Service teacher in all facets of daily classroom management, providing daily hands-on support in the Auto Mechanics Shop, and completing administrative tasks assigned by the instructor or administration. 



What You'll Possess


Qualified Candidates Will:



  • You'll possess a high school diploma. Technology Center Diploma or Associate's degree preferred.



  • You’ll possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience in the auto repair industry. Prior administrative support experience in a school environment is a plus.

  • You’ll possess or be willing to obtain a minimum of 1 ASE certification.

  • You'll be experienced with computer software applications, including google workspace.

  • You are detail-oriented and organized. You'll simultaneously work on several tasks related to all things TCT and manage them with ease. You're a project planner who meets deadlines.

  • You'll have excellent customer service. You'll exceed expectations and have excellent follow-up skills. 

  • You'll take the initiative, seek out projects, and openly accept other duties as assigned.

  • You'll have excellent communication skills.

  • You thrive on the spark that happens when collaboration leads to innovation and enjoy a team environment.

  • You continually look for ways to improve your skill set and are always open to receiving feedback.



What You’ll Do


Essential Functions:


Instructional Assistants provide administrative support to a workgroup or function in a task-oriented environment. They possess a present focus and will handle multiple tasks with provided direction in the scope of their workgroup. Customer service skills are a top priority as they often serve as the front-line representative of the workgroup. 



  1. Support Instruction in Auto Mechanics Shop.       



  • Provide hands on support to student learning experiences in classroom and lab 

  • Create an effective environment for learning, ensuring classroom cleanliness and organization, and effective supervision of student activities.  

  • Coordinate with the instructor to establish student behavior needed to achieve a functional                learning atmosphere in the classroom.

  • Support instructor by assisting appropriate records and preparing reports relating to student progress, including grades and attendance as requested.

  • Participate in faculty meetings and sponsorship of student activities.

  • Provide administrative support to instructors such as filing, inventory management, delivering mail, classroom organization, etc.

Terms of Employment: Ten months; salary to be established by the Board of Education.


  


Evaluation: Performance evaluated by the Senior Administrative Director per Board policy.


Status: Non-Exempt


Salary: $43,000 +DOE
