Primary Purpose
The Controls Engineer will support controls engineering projects involving PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, control panel design, instrumentation, system testing, and start-up assistance. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to develop hands-on experience with industrial automation and control systems.
Major Responsibilities
Assist with the design, development, and implementation of control systems to meet machine and integrated system requirements
Develop and modify PLC control logic and HMI applications
Assist with control system schematics, wiring documentation, and control panel layouts
Support system testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and start-up activities
Assist with the development and maintenance of project documentation
Work alongside experienced controls engineers on automation and control system integration projects
Support projects for clients across industries such as food and beverage, semiconductor, and other industrial applications
Learn and apply industry standards and best practices for controls and automation
Perform general project and engineering-related administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent education/experience will also be considered
Experience
Experience with controls, automation, electrical engineering, or a related field
Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley or Ignition experience highly preferred
Basic understanding of PLC programming and ladder logic
Exposure to HMI/SCADA systems preferred
Familiarity with electrical schematics, control panels, and instrumentation preferred
AutoCAD experience is a plus
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on industrial environment
