Job Description

  • Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing processes, equipment, and work cells
    • 3D modeling and tooling design capability required.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual or inefficient processes to improve productivity and quality
  • Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning and production ramp-up
  • Develop process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, control concepts, and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with controls engineers, equipment suppliers, and integrators on system design and validation
  • Perform process capability studies, cycle time analysis, and ROI evaluations for automation initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and optimize automated equipment to ensure reliable, repeatable performance
  • Support new product introductions by developing manufacturable and automatable processes
  • Create and maintain documentation including work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel on new automated systems
  • Develop and maintain APQP documents such as PFMEA, flow charts, etc.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation such as Set-up Instructions and Work Instructions.
  • Lead and/or provide input for the specification, design, build and launch of new processes.
  • Lead and/or participate in procurement, installation and runoff of new equipment.
  • Lead and/or participate in implementing Engineering Change Requests
  • Analyze existing and future production capacity requirements.
  • Incorporate needs of Production into project and process activities.
  • Develop Preventive Maintenance and spare parts plan for equipment.
  • Provide and maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Develop engineering practices and procedures to improve existing systems.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to address safety, quality and productivity for the assigned area.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to evaluate technician training gaps and recommended training.
  • Conduct regular audits (Quality- LPA, Work Station, 5S, Operator, etc.)
  • Controls experience preferred:
    1. Safety PLC
    2. Siemens
    3. ABB Industrial Robot/Kassow Cobot

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Metallurgy from an accredited institution with minimum 3 yrs. experience in a manufacturing or other relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with machining process or heat treating processes preferred
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical problem solver; experience with RedX methodology or other problem solving tools
