Automation Support Engineer - Vaccine Manufacturing - Career Growth Potential

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert support for automation systems to facilitate the production of high-quality vaccine products in accordance with regulatory standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Troubleshoot issues and implement process control measures to optimize manufacturing efficiency and ensure compliance with SDLC, GMP, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to support a diverse and inclusive culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Design, implement, test, and close out change controls for automation-related corrective actions and improvement projects.
• Participate in investigations of automation incidents and problems, developing and implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide off-site weekend/evening automation phone or on-site support as needed to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Functions:

• Ensure compliance with global policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, executing cGMP in all job functions.
• Support all automation system components, including on-the-floor support of manufacturing activities.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency in automation control systems such as Emerson DeltaV, AB PLC, FactoryTalk, SCADA, and Windows operating systems.
• Maintain familiarity with Computer System Validation and regulatory GXP requirements.
• Apply knowledge of the S88 Batch Standard to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, but candidates with an Associate's degree and significant experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in process automation or equivalent in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
• Proficiency in automation control systems and related technologies, including SQL and network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
