Automation Technician

Aethon Energy Operating LLC (“Aethon”) Automation Technician is responsible for repairing, installing, troubleshooting, and performing predictive and preventative maintenance tasks on control systems, natural gas compression or pump stations, SCADA, and other equipment contained within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines. Additionally, this position will inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain process control systems such as PLCs or DCS and other similar equipment.

DUTIES & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, diagnose, and maintain PLC's or DCS systems and process or safety controls
• Read and interpret manuals, policy, engineering standards, regulations, drawings, and schematics, including electrical, pneumatic, and P&ID's
• Perform specialized technical skills, including development of complex design projects, cost estimates, evaluation of electrical systems, building and maintaining ESD systems, maintaining gas turbine or skid unit control systems
• Provide work direction, oversight, and inspection of work provided by contractors
• Actively participate in partnership safety programs, policies, procedures and initiatives

• Participate in call out/on call requirement

Education & Work Experience:

• High school diploma or GED and Associates Degree in Instrumentation
• Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
• Ability to maintain motor controls, relay logic, RTU's, I&E associated end-devices
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Outlook and Word
• Experience using software to troubleshoot, design, or configure control solutions specific to In Touch Wonderware or Factory Talk, Allen Bradley RSLogix, Condtrol Logix, and RocLink
• Related software and system certifications

Personal & Soft Skills:

• Provide mentoring and oversight to less qualified employees
• Provide accurate written and electronic reporting

Physical & Other Requirements:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States and have a valid drivers license
• The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job
• Working conditions may include confined spaces
• Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays
• Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
