Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Automation/Witness Test Engineer - LVA - 1st Shift. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at our Arden (Asheville) NC Eaton location. \n\nThe Automation/Test Engineer will provide systems integration engineering and technical consultation for customers, manufacturing, and engineering in the areas of system design, programming, installation, maintenance, testing, training and modification of automated control systems and power management systems.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nIn this role:\n\n\u2022 Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC\u2019s). \n\u2022 Program Human Machine interfaces (HMI\u2019s). \n\u2022 Design and implement power system control schemes including switchgear transfer control, load management control, generator control, microgrid control, and SCADA system development. \n\u2022 Assist with testing, programming, and troubleshooting of Low Voltage Assemblies automation control systems. \n\u2022 Manage customer witness test and provide detailed reports and resolution. \n\u2022 Provide technical training and guidance to department personnel as required. \n\u2022 Perform drawing updates and initiate manufacturing/engineering changes. \n\u2022 Consult with plant and field sales engineers.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering or Engineering technology from an accredited institution.\n * Previous training or experience with programable controllers.\n * Experience with Low Voltage Switchgear\n * No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Asheville NC Eatton location will be considered. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H1-B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, 1-485 job portability, etc.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical engineering or Electrical engineering technology from an accredited institution.\n * Two (2) year of LVA Product Engineering/COE experience with completion of the Eaton Asheville Low Voltage Assemblies (LVA) COE Engineer Training Program.\n * A working knowledge of applicable Low Voltage Assemblies products and regulatory standards (UL, CSA, and IEC). Two years of experience with programable controller and human machine interface. \nExperience with control system design and integration. \n \n\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Proficiency in electrical principles. \n\u2022 Possess a sound working knowledge of PC software programs such as MS project, Excel, word, and outlook, and adequate familiarity with AutoCAD Inventor to utilize it for the engineering drawings. \n\u2022 Sound problem solving skills and the ability to analyze product failure issues sufficiently to drive to root cause. \n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. \n\u2022 Working knowledge of Low Voltage Assemblies and related products. \n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
