Automotive Accounting Clerk

About Us:
At Great Lakes Hyundai of Columbus, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding automotive services to our valued customers. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Accounting Clerk to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a high-paced office environment, with previous automotive accounting experience preferred. The successful candidate will be able to complete tasks independently and support office management staff as directed. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Process vehicle payoffs to banks daily, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
• Follow up on payoffs to ensure they are cashed within 10 business days and resolve any issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of titles, lien releases, and other relevant documents.
• Apply for duplicate titles when necessary and maintain a list of bank contacts.
• Process payoff shortage checks and reconcile accounts accurately.
• Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounts and ability to post documents accurately.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and maintain organized records.
• Capable of working efficiently and staying focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous automotive accounting experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel is essential.
• Able to work independently and hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or relevant certifications preferred).
  
• 2+ years of experience in automotive billing or related field required.
  
• Strong understanding of automotive repair processes and parts.
  
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and CRM (CDK) experience a plus!
  
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
