Position Overview:

The Automotive Body Shop Estimator plays a crucial role in the automotive repair process by accurately assessing vehicle damage and providing detailed estimates for repair costs. This position requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to evaluate the extent of damage and the necessary repairs. The estimator will work closely with customers to explain the repair process and provide transparent pricing, ensuring a positive customer experience. Additionally, the estimator will collaborate with technicians and management to prioritize repairs and manage workflow efficiently. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to ensure that customers receive high-quality service while maintaining profitability for the shop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess repair needs and costs.


• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for repairs, including parts and labor.


• Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process and answer any questions.


• Collaborate with technicians to ensure that repairs are completed to the highest standards.


• Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Proven experience in automotive repair or estimating


• Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and parts


• Experience working with CCC estimating program. (Preferred)


• Experience with estimating software and tools. (Preferred)


• Customer service experience in a retail or automotive environment. (Preferred)

Skills:

• Strong analytical abilities to assess vehicle damage and calculate repair costs accurately


• Effective communication skills are essential for explaining estimates and repair processes to customers, ensuring they feel informed and valued.


• Attention to detail is critical in preparing estimates to avoid discrepancies and ensure customer satisfaction.


• Preferred skills, such as familiarity with estimating software, enhance efficiency in generating accurate quotes and managing records
