As a Body Shop Technician Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced technicians and learn the hands-on skills needed to become a professional collision repair technician. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist technicians with disassembly, repair, and reassembly of vehicles.
  
  
  • Learn and perform basic body repair techniques including panel replacement, panel repair, structural repairs, sanding, prepping, and priming.
  
  
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  
  
  • Support the team with parts organization, vehicle movement, and shop upkeep.
  
  
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the company.

  Quality Control:

  
  
  
  
  • Conduct thorough inspections of repaired vehicles to ensure all work meets quality standards.
  
  
  • Perform final adjustments and touch-ups as necessary.
  
  
  • Test drive repaired vehicles to verify proper alignment and functionality.

  Tool and Equipment Maintenance:

  
  
  
  
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment.
  
  
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in automotive repair is preferred.
  
  
  • Mechanical aptitude or prior experience working with tools preferred.
  
  
  • Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment, including welding machines, frame straighteners, and spray guns.
  
  
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical specifications.
  
  
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
  
  
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  
  
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  
  
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
  
  
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
