Automotive Body Technician / Diehl Kia of Hermitage

Description:
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. This a Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm role. You’ll be responsible for restoring vehicle exteriors after collision damage, performing structural repairs, refinishing, painting, and customer communications. An ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of delivering high-quality service efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect vehicle damage and submit repair cost estimates
• Remove and replace damaged panels, realign frames, and perform welding
• Sand, refinish, and paint surfaces with attention to detail
• Repair or replace glass components as needed
• Prepare vehicles for painting: sanding, masking, surface prep
• Manage cosmetic repairs such as scratch removal, rust treatment, restoration
• Draft professional damage reports for insurance and customers
• Communicate clearly with customers to explain necessary repairs
• Ensure each vehicle meets safety and quality standards before delivery
• Maintain tools, equipment, workspace, and follow all safety guidelines including PPE usage
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective workflow

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or collision repair specialist
• Proficiency in welding, panel replacement, and refinishing techniques
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and PPE usage
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and occasionally on weekends/overtime
• Formal certifications (e.g., ASE) or specialized training is a plus

Qualifications

• Valid Drivers License from any state with a clean driving record

• Experience in a technical / mechanical field is required
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks
