Haddad Subaru is seeking a dedicated Automotive Detailer/Reconditioner to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all vehicles are cleaned, inspected, and prepared to meet the high standards our customers expect. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining the appearance and condition of our inventory, helping us deliver exceptional quality and service.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and detail both the interior and exterior of vehicles, including washing, waxing, vacuuming, and polishing.
- Inspect vehicles for cosmetic defects and ensure all repairs and reconditioning are completed as needed.
- Assist in minor repairs such as touch-up paint or trim replacement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning equipment and work areas.
- Collaborate with the service and sales teams to prepare vehicles for customer delivery.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe workplace.
Requirements
- Previous experience in automotive detailing or reconditioning preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and handle physical tasks.

Essential Duties
- Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down doorjambs.
- Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface.
- Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices.
- Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
- Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations.
- Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation.
- Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
- Uses proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection.
- Applies dressing on tires and tire wells.
- Replaces missing or defective small parts.
- Maintains showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times.
- Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window, tail gate and plates holder.
- Removes all window stickers on sold vehicles.
- Keeps work area neat and clean.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Washes and dry dirty rags.
- Clean snow off cars.
- Clean bays at the end of the day.
- Other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- No prior experience necessary
- High school education or equivalent
- Must possess valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds without assistance.

Mental & Visual Demands
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Work performed by this position requires moderate mental concentration to effectively execute routine tasks.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed on the road. However, while performing the duties of this job within repair shop environment, the employee may be exposed to moderate noise.
- Various PPE devices & equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, hearing protection and glasses may be required.
