Role Summary:
The Dismantler will be responsible for supporting all aspects of truck and bus dismantling and parts removal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the removal of parts from medium duty trucks and buses for resale. This will require an understanding of shop procedures, physical strength, proficiency with tools (air tools, torch, etc.) and/or the willingness to learn proper removal techniques and procedures.
- Assist with the cleaning and storage of used parts.
- Assist with the disposal of trucks/buses. This will include loading/unloading, draining fluids, and other related tasks. This may also require heavy operating equipment.
- Assist with the recycling and scrapping of materials including steel, copper, batteries, aluminum, rubber, and any other related materials. This requires a willingness to learn how to identify and organize materials by type/grade.
- Assist with the maintenance of heavy vehicles and equipment. This will include medium duty trucks/buses, semi, flatbed, front end loader, forklifts, skid loader, and other related equipment.
- Perform other duties, as assigned by the supervisor. These may include organizing the warehouse, delivering parts, performing general maintenance, shop cleaning, etc.
- Suggest improved methods and practices for the business operations when experience and common-sense dictates.
Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass DOT physical.
• General knowledge of heavy/medium duty vehicles.
• Welding/cutting certification preferred.

Our company has been in the bus industry for over 50 years. Originally called Northland School Bus Parts, it was purchased by Adrian Berning in 2004 and renamed Midwest Bus Parts. His desire was to become a one-stop parts provider with exceptional service – and he succeeded. We are still owned by the Berning Family today and growing.
We realized there was a need for recycled parts and in 2017, we opened the only used parts provider for school buses in the Midwest – Quality Bus and Truck Parts. There, we have expanded to offer basic service and DOT inspections.
