Job Description - Automotive F&I Manager

The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager provides excellent customer service while helping new and used car buyers acquire financing and insurance programs for their new purchase. F&I Managers also work with financial lenders to give fair interest rates to buyers and programs. As with all positions within the dealership, F&I Managers are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.


Responsibilities and Duties: (include but are not limited to)



  • Greet customers while quickly and effectively transitioning them from Sales to Finance during their vehicle purchase process.

  • Determine client’s financing needs based on a professional interview process.

  • Present and transparent menu to clients with the finance options and products to enhance their vehicle ownership experience and protect their investment.

  • Maintain good working relationships with lending institutions to secure competitive interest rates and financing programs.

  • Process financing and leasing deals accurately and secure approval through financial sources to secure approval through the proper federal, state and corporate channels.

  • Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect the new and used-vehicle and finance departments.

  • Participate in dealership programs with the sales department to ensure all new sales are referred to the F&I Department.

  • Train and provide the sales team with information on finance and lease programs and the benefits of the dealership’s financing and extended service programs.

  • Work as a team to set and achieve targeted goals.

  • Ensure that all administrative processes are handled timely and in compliance with company policy.


Qualifications:



  • Previous finance experience (preferably in the automotive industry)

  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service, achieve targeted goals, and maintain excellent written and verbal communication with customers and the sales department.

  • Prior sales experience preferred but not required.

  • Maintains a professional work appearance and work ethic.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced team-focused environment.
