Glass Installer & Calibration Technician – Trainee


Training Pay: $18.00 Per Hour


Fully Trained Technicians Earn $65,000–$85,000 Per Year

This position is designed for someone with mechanical ability who enjoys working with their hands and is eager to learn. No prior glass installation or calibration experience is required. We provide hands-on training in a team environment with the goal of developing you into a fully trained Glass Installer & Calibration Technician in one year or less.


During training, you will learn professional glass installation techniques, vehicle calibration procedures, equipment operation, and the repair processes necessary to safely and accurately service today's vehicles. Once fully trained, Glass Installers who perform calibrations can earn approximately $65,000–$85,000 per year.


Reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to be coached are essential to success in this position. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well with others, and is committed to learning a trade that can provide a lucrative and rewarding career.

Key Responsibilities



  • Participate in hands-on training to become a professional automotive Glass Installer & Calibration Technician

  • Learn and perform automotive glass installation procedures according to company and manufacturer standards

  • Learn and perform advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) calibrations using specialized equipment

  • Follow established safety procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines

  • Properly operate and care for glass installation and calibration equipment

  • Assist experienced technicians while developing the skills necessary to work independently

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team environment

  • Progress through training with the goal of becoming a fully trained technician within one year or less

  • Upon completion of training, operate a company vehicle to perform mobile glass installations and calibrations

  • Safely transport and operate required tools and equipment at mobile service locations

  • Continue developing technical knowledge and skills as vehicle technology and calibration requirements evolve


Qualifications



  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work effectively with your hands

  • Strong desire to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career

  • Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Coachable and receptive to feedback and hands-on instruction

  • Ability to learn new processes, tools, equipment, and technology

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines

  • Upper-body strength and physical ability to safely perform glass installation work

  • Ability to remain in stationary positions (standing/sitting) for extended periods of time, 6 plus hours

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs comfortably

  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, or stoop as needed

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Clean driving record and ability to meet company motor vehicle requirements

  • Ability to safely operate a company van with tools and equipment

  • Willing to submit to a pre-hire background check

  • Previous automotive, mechanical, glass, construction, or hands-on trade experience is a plus, but not required

This position is designed to provide a clear path from trainee to fully trained Glass Installer & Calibration Technician, with the potential to advance into a Mobile Glass Installer & Calibration Technician role.


As you develop your skills and demonstrate proficiency, you'll gain experience with professional glass installation, ADAS calibration, mobile service operations, and state-of-the-art equipment. Our goal is to help the right candidate become a fully trained technician in one year or less.
