We are currently looking for a highly skilled Heavy Line Automotive Technician to perform high-quality maintenance and repairs on major vehicle components and automotive systems.

Core Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and perform heavy line repairs such as engine replacements, transmission repairs, differential rebuilds, and replace worn or damaged parts.
- Use diagnostic equipment to assess and repair mechanical issues in engines, drivetrains, suspension systems, etc.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical and computer systems.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and specifications for repairs and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors about recommended repairs, estimated time, and required parts.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, service recommendations, and services and repairs performed.
- Test drive vehicles to confirm proper operation and effectiveness of repairs.
- Provide mentorship or assistance to less-experienced technicians as needed.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 – 5 years of automotive diagnostics and repair experience with at least 2 years of experience specializing in heavy line repairs.
- GM Certifications are required; ASE Certifications are a plus.
- Demonstrates expertise in engine diagnostics, transmission systems, and other major mechanical components.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of GM/Chevrolet repair processes, guidelines and warranties.
- Must have your own tools and tool box.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
- Successful completion of Chapman’s pre-employment screenings including a background check and drug test.
Hours and Work Environment:
The Service Department is open Monday - Friday 7am - 6pm and Saturday 7am - 5pm. Flexible availability to work various hours during the department’s business hours is required. Our technicians enjoy a state-of-the-art, air-conditioned shop.
