Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Master Automotive Technician with strong diagnostic abiltity to join our team.
We only use high quality parts and we have a 4 year 48,000 mile nationwide warranty.
Technicians are paid the full labor rate for warranty work.
We have professionally trained serviced advisors that are in ongoing training programs.
We have free towing for our customers.
Shop is heated and we have large fans for cooling in the summer.
Shop has all LED overhead lighting.
Lots of new shop equipment including three Snap On shop scanners that are continually updated.
Shop pays for training, ASE certifications, and renewals.
Technician Hours are 8am to 5pm, be home in time for dinner.
We have an amazing shop culture, our technicians love coming to work.
We have Identifix, and AllData.
Top pay, pay depends on experience, and ASE Certifications.
As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles. You must be comfortable using the shops computer software and have extensive knowledge of vehicle systems.
If you have a “never give up” attitude and are willing to problem-solve until you find the best solution for the customer, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
- Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status, maintaining technical documentation, and other necessary protocols
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
- Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Convey necessary vehicle repair information to the service advisors in a clear and concise manner
- This is a flat rate pay job
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required
- An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
- Strong customer service and communications skills are required

How did the story of Rob’s Automotive Repair of Clackamas begin? Officially, the first page of our auto repair shop’s story began in 2004, but Robert Hartshorn, the owner of Rob’s Automotive Repair, seemed to always know auto repair and diesel service were the driving force, no pun intended, in his life.
At seven years old, you could find Robert working on lawnmowers and go-karts. You could also find him learning how to drive a manual transmission. We aren’t sure what we are more surprised by: his very young age or that his feet were able to reach the pedals! When Rob was 14, he graduated to LandCruisers, and at 15, he got his first job as a technician. Now, that sounds very much like a prodigy.
When Robert was 21, he decided to try his hand at welding and fabricating. Soon enough, he was building motors and mining trucks. Eventually, his skills and expertise led him to a shipyard, where you could find him working on supertankers. His mechanical aptitude, along with his desire to continue to grow as a technician, led him to a ranch, working on tractors, work trucks, and any other machinery you would think belongs at a ranch.
After building drill rigs and working on semi-trucks and trailers, Robert realized he wanted to change the way customers were treated. With ample experience and deep concern for his customers, the story of Rob’s Automotive Repair began in 2004, and the story continues to unfold. He and the rest of his team continue to grow, as technicians and an auto repair shop.
