Automotive Mechanic

• Repair and maintain automobiles, trucks, equipment, and tools.
• Perform journey-level mechanical repair work.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles and equipment.
• Drive snowplows and/or sand spreaders as needed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in automotive repair and computer training in automotive systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Possession of a Virginia Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Clean driving record that meets city requirements.
• Successful completion of a background and driving record check.

• Membership in the Virginia Retirement System.
