Job Description - Automotive Service Manager


 

Location: Tacoma Metro
Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: Director of Fixed Operations
Compensation: $120,000 – $192,000/annually per manufacturer line (based on performance and experience)

What You'll Do

  • Lead and Inspire: Mentor and develop a team of skilled technicians and service advisors to deliver top-tier service and consistent results.
  • Elevate the Experience: Ensure every customer interaction reflects our commitment to transparency, trust, and excellence.
  • Streamline Operations: Oversee day-to-day service operations with a focus on efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Drive Results: Own service metrics, performance benchmarks, and profitability goals. Track KPIs, identify trends, and act quickly to optimize.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with parts, sales, and leadership to maintain cohesive operations across the dealership.
  • Financial Management: Set and manage budgets, control costs, and find smart ways to boost revenue without compromising service quality.
  • Champion Safety & Compliance: Uphold workplace safety standards and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

What you Bring

  • Proven success as a Service Manager or high-level Service Advisor in a dealership environment
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Excellent understanding of dealership operations, DMS systems, and manufacturer service processes
  • Ability to interpret financial reports and manage department profitability
  • Strong communication and customer service instincts
  • A growth mindset, adaptability, and a passion for the automotive industry

Larson Automotive Benefits:

Time Off & Holidays

Paid Time Off (PTO):

                  o Accrual begins on your first day.

                  o Eligible to use after 90 days of employment.

                  o Accrual schedule:

                           0–2 years: 1 hour per 40 hours worked

                           3–10 years: 1.53 hours per 40 hours worked

                           10+ years: 2.30 hours per 40 hours worked

Paid Holidays: Hourly employees receive six paid holidays per year.

  • Proven track record in a high-octane automotive service management role.
  • Leadership skills that could turn rush hour traffic into a parade.
  • Customer service finesse that could turn a lemon into lemonade (or at least make the lemon smile).
  • Communication skills so smooth, you could sell snow tires to a desert dweller.
  • Automotive systems mastery – you eat complex diagnostics for breakfast.
  • Financial wizardry – you're like the Houdini of budget management.
  • Rapid decision-maker and creative problem solver – you're like MacGyver in a mechanic's overalls.
  • Fluent in the language of industry regulations and safety protocols.
