Automotive Service Technician

DeYarman Ford in Indianola, IA is looking for an Automotive Service Technician who holds both Ford and ASE certification. The shop handles a steady mix of diagnostic and repair work, and technicians here are expected to work from repair orders with accuracy and sound judgment. What You'll Do

• Carry out the work listed on each repair order efficiently and in line with dealership and manufacturer standards


• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, and air conditioning systems to pinpoint the needed repair


• Apply diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment to evaluate components and systems


• Validate each repair with a test drive and a final check of the affected systems


• Alert the Service Advisor when additional work is needed, with a time estimate so the customer can decide quickly


• Meet manufacturer specifications on every warranty repair

What We're Looking For

• Ford certification 


• ASE certification 


• B-level qualifications including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair


• 2+ years of service technician experience preferred


• Previous Ford dealership experience preferred


• Possesses own tools


• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with confidence using electronic diagnostic equipment


• Steady hands and strong hand-eye coordination


• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new technology, repair procedures, and specifications


• Customer service skills and an eagerness to keep improving


• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required


• High school diploma or equivalent required
