Automotive Technician Up to $55/Hour

Job Description

AM Ford is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing Service Department. The ideal candidate is a productive, quality-focused technician who takes pride in diagnosing vehicles correctly, completing repairs efficiently, and fixing vehicles right the first time.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.


• Perform routine maintenance and general automotive repairs.


• Perform brake, suspension, steering, HVAC, electrical, engine, and other repairs based on experience and certification level.


• Use diagnostic equipment and manufacturer resources to accurately identify vehicle concerns.


• Perform thorough multi-point inspections on customer vehicles.


• Identify and document recommended maintenance and additional repairs.


• Clearly document diagnosis, repairs performed, and parts required on repair orders.


• Communicate findings and repair recommendations with Service Advisors.


• Complete repairs according to Ford and dealership specifications.


• Maintain strong productivity and efficiency while maintaining quality workmanship.


• Perform quality-control checks before vehicles are returned to customers.


• Keep your work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.


• Follow all dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.


• Participate in Ford factory training and continuing education.


• Work with the Service Manager, Advisors, Parts Department, and other technicians to keep vehicles moving efficiently through the shop.

Qualifications

• Previous professional automotive repair experience preferred.


• Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities.


• Ability to perform repairs independently.


• Ford or dealership experience is preferred but not required.


• ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus.


• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.


• Must have basic automotive technician tools.


• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment.
