The Automotive Technician/Mechanic is responsible for maintaining high quality and safety standards on the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce.
What you'll do:
Install electrical connectors to finish wiring.
Connect rigid hydraulic lines between pump and cylinder.
Assemble and install hydraulic pump units & hydraulic cylinders.
Assemble and install remote control electronics.
Modify plastic panels for body and cylinder mounts.
Operate and troubleshoot the hydro/electrical system.
Use of hand tools including, but not limited to, grinder, body saw, impact drivers, hand drills and band saw.
Perform routine checks on tools and equipment ensuring accuracy and functionality.
Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors quality and safety standards, policies and procedures, and OSHA safety regulations.
Cross-train and assist in others areas as needed.
What you'll need:
Mechanical background with previous experience in hydro and/or electrical or other relevant field preferred (such as automotive or aviation repair, farm equipment repair, manufacturing or HVAC/plumbing).
Strong mechanical aptitude required and knowledge of vehicle mechanics & systems preferred.
Demonstrated initiative, willingness to take on greater challenges, and a proactive & results-driven mindset.
Strong attention to detail, time-management and organizational skills. Proficient computer skills.
Excellent verbal communication & interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
