Autonomous Vehicle Service Associate VH6

Position Summary

JH Careers, LLC. is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company to hire a VH6 Associate to support daily fleet operations at their test sites in the Austin, TX area. In this role, you will ensure on-time vehicle readiness for tests and service operations on our VH6 platform, with support for L3 vehicles when possible. As part of the Mission Readiness team, you'll help vehicles meet regulatory requirements, maintain site organization, and assist with spare parts inventory. This is a hands-on, fast-paced opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking autonomous technology.

• Tuesday – Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM | 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Friday – Tuesday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Sunday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM | 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Saturday – Wednesday: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Ideal Candidate Profile

We're seeking a detail-oriented, technically savvy professional who goes above and beyond. Preferred qualifications include:

• Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair.
• Proficiency with Jira/Confluence.
• Proficiency with MS Office/Google Suites.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support company milestones and optimize drive operations across multiple locations.
• Ensure vehicles, equipment, and workplaces are clean and ready for use.
• Provide logistical support for the movement and storage of vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with paperwork and documentation related to vehicle readiness.
• Perform routine charging of test vehicles and supporting equipment.
• Execute mission prep procedures, including launching software across multiple devices per vehicle, verifying software/hardware configurations, deploying software as needed, capturing requested data, and escalating issues.
• Provide support as a member of the Incident Response Team during vehicle recovery scenarios.
• Support the readiness of spare parts and associated inventory.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support to BaseOps technicians (e.g., fluid changes, part replacements, wiring checks).
• Offer general testing support, including documentation, pre-mission assistance, cone courses, obstacles, traffic control, and support vehicle driving.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean/excellent driving record.
• Ability to travel locally and nationally (less than 30%).
• "Get it done" attitude, safety-first mindset, and sense of urgency to resolve problems and tasks.
• Proven ability to problem-solve and deliver in high-pressure situations.
• Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects/deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items.
• Ability to climb stairs, stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, kneel, and reach during shifts.
• Must pass a background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screen.
