Job Description - Availability - Customer Service

Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must respond to all inquiries from customers in a courteous and effective manner.

Check Carson terminal systems for drayage availability.

Review Pier pass to pull containers from the terminals.

Track and trace containers.

Understand customs procedures for the Bonded Warehouse and ensure that documents received for import, storage, and export customs purposes are compliant and correct.

Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measurements of items for incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, picking tickets, invoices, orders, or other documents and records.

Answers Customer queries regarding inventories and availability of freight.

Responsible for data entry by way of Excel spreadsheet with utmost accuracy.

Invoices customers for services rendered.

Contact terminals for container issues.

Create daily reports for customers, ensuring accuracy in all reports provided.

Create pickup appointments for import loads and return of empties.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and two years’ related experience.

Experience in distribution/fulfillment environment is preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook/ Warehouse Management System (WMS)

Have excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to cross train others

Excellent data entry skills. Ability to pay close attention to detail for typing, filing, sorting and proofing.

Must be able to be professional at all time and flexible with changing situations.

Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
