Responsible for daily operations of exotic bird aviaries.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Daily cleaning of aviaries; weekly disinfection of aviaries.

1. Daily diet preparation, feeding and other husbandry duties

1. Provide enrichment activities for birds.

1. Monitor bird’s weights, general health and groom as necessary.

1. Handling medical emergencies of animals; administration of treatments.

1. Provide interpretive talks and answer visitors inquiries.

1. Perform general maintenance of aviaries and landscaping of surrounding area.

1. Perform other duties as requested.

1. Comply with all Fisher Island standards (i.e., grooming, conduct, policies, and procedures).

Education/Skills/Work Experience Required

High school diploma with some college preferred; Experience with animal husbandry and handling preferred; Ability to lift 50 lbs.; Experience with basic power tools; valid Florida driver's license and vehicle; communications and public relations skills.

Working Conditions Associated with Job

Indoor and outdoor, live animal and manual labor duties.
